My experience includes project management, contract administration, proposal preparation including man-hour estimates, computer development programs, site engineering supervision, equipment witnessed testing and inspection. I have an excellent working knowledge of PC based software for DOS and Windows as well as having a broad knowledge of other engineering disciplines.
Experience includes electrical power system studies ( load flow, short circuit and transient stability/ IPSA, PSANAL, ACS, T2000, CAPTOR, DAPPER, CAPE and PSLF ), planning and design of electrical power systems up to 500 kV including offshore and onshore installations as well as submarine cables and cable laying techniques, preparation of specifications and tenders, tender evaluation (commercial and technical aspects), design review, installation and commissioning of SF6 switchgear and oil filled cables.

Main activity included arranging meetings with EGAT, Lenders, EPC contractors to discuss and find solutions to the present situation of suspension. Providing support to EVS regarding the PPA negotiations with EGAT.

Lead Electrical Engineer and Deputy Project Manager responsible for Bid Evaluation of the 210 MW Combined Cycle and Cogeneration Plant and Chilled Water Plant Contractor bids which will serve the highly sensitive load of the semi-conductor industries located at the Alpha Park in Chacheongsao, 70 km North - East of Bangkok for Alpha Power Company, Bangkok, Thailand, ( APC ). Also responsible for the final preparation and coordination of the Terms of Reference for the O & M Contractors and the Bid Evaluation reports. Member of the team selecting O & M Contractor. Also responsible for the coordination and issue of the Bid Evaluation Report to APC. Taking part in the negotiations with the SPP Customers on behalf of the Owner. Assisting finalisation of the Contractor Agreements. Providing technical back up support as required to the various negotiation teams and partaking in negotiations and also coordinating the relevant activities leading to Contract Signature. Responsible for the preparation and setting up in the PC's the Filing and Subject Index and Document Control for the Projects being handled by Electrowatt ( CCPP, Chilled Water Plant and O & M Contract ). Electrowatt Consulting Engineers Consultant October 95 Calculation of the power transfer capability of 1150 kV and 500 kV rated lines considering the thermal capacity and voltage drop for different size of conductors for Kazakhstan Power System Least Cost Development Study.
Preparation of preliminary load forecast and associated generator planting strategy for four towns in Cambodia. The expected revenue from the sale of electricity was also determined for Anglo Cambodian Holdings Limited.
Preliminary assessment of the voltage level ( 230 kV or 500 kV ) and conductor size required to transmit 600 MW from Honghsa Power Station in Lao PDR to Thailand for Hongsa Independent Power Producer.
Seconded to Brunei Shell Petroleum Company, Brunei Darussalam to advise/prepare conceptual development of design packages and reports for the electrification of existing and future offshore fields in the South China Sea off the coast of Brunei using HV submarine cables. Also involved in the initial stages of the conceptual design of a small drilling platform located in the vicinity of the AMPA complex. This included the preparation of the 6.6/11 kV submarine cable specification as well as providing details of cable laying requirements to pipeline Engineer to prepare the subsea cable installation specification. One of the techniques considered assumed the cable would be strapped to the pipeline. Also involved in discussions with local ( Singapore based ) cable laying contractors to assess the cost implications of the cable installation. Also responsible for reviewing and editing Combined Cycle Power Generation Studies report prepared by BSP on behalf of Department of Electricity. This included a review and comments regarding overall power system planning and generation strategies besides deciding the report layout and contents. The work required liaison with multidiscipline engineering groups, maintenance and operations departments and third parties to develop the electrification strategy. Power system analysis was carried out on IPSA. Also responsible as Lead Engineer for the feasibility study to determine the power supply options to feed 3 * 750 kW liquid export pumps for fixed and variable speed drives. System studies were carried out using IPSA. This study addressed the impact on generation in Champion - 7 due to the additional load, the requirements due to the fixed drives starting conditions as well as providing an itemised cost details for the options. Responsible for the feasibility study covering the removal of the 33 kV overhead line connecting Main Intake Substation ( MIS ) and G2 substation. System studies were carried out in IPSA. The study assessed the impact in the network due to the removal of the line and also looked into the alternatives available to provide the same degree of security.
Project Manager for the services provided to TRANSPA regarding the supervision and technical assistance of the operation of the 330 kV and 132 kV Patagonian System. Also responsible for the preparation of the quarterly report submitted to the Secretary of Energy in relation to programming and maintenance execution, availability, reliability, quality of service, plant status and environmental aspects. Specialists in the fields of environment and maintenance provide the required support.
Design review of the electrical aspects of the 2 x 260 MW extension to Rabigh Power Station Stage III for Saudi Consolidated Electricity Company, Saudi Arabia.
Lead Electrical Engineer for the design of the 230 kV switchyard for the 135 MW hydropower plant which will supply EGAT's system in Thailand for Daewoo Corporation, Seoul, South Korea. This assignment included system studies modelling not only the Houay Ho system in Lao PDR but also the 230 kV and 115 kV network in Thailand. Also responsible for the transmission line route selection. It also included the preparation of the tender documents for the 230 kV switchyard including the 2 x 72 MVA generator-transformers as well as the preparation of the tender documents for the 230 kV double circuit transmission line of an approximate length of 170 km.
Evaluation of the condition of the 330 kV and 132 kV Patagonian system to advise the Consortium, ALUAR / Grupo Camuzzi Gas Argentina / Local Distribution Cooperatives, Argentina, interested in purchasing the installations.
Technical review of tender documents for 275 kV transmission project which includes 4 x 275/66/11 kV GIS substations and 275 kV transmission line. This also included the preparation of revised and updated tender documents for Department of Electrical Services, Brunei Darussalam.
Lead Electrical Engineer ( six months contract ) responsible for the electrical design of Wytch Farm Stage III Development Phase I and II for British Petroleum in Dorset. This includes the preparation of specifications for Variable Speed Drives, 11 kV/433 V transformers and associated switchboards, their respective requisitions, bid evaluation, design review, installation supervision as well as liaising with BP's Engineers. Also responsible for :
Senior Electrical Engineer, responsible for topsides electrical plant design ( voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, cable selection, etc ). Also responsible for power systems studies ( load flow, short circuit, decrement curves, motor starting, etc. ) for the electrical system of Dunbar and North Alwyn platforms for Total Oil Marine. Detailed engineering design phase completed on 28 March 1993. Also responsible for the bid documents, bid evaluation and documents review for :
Consultant, Senior Electrical Engineer, responsible for technical and economic studies of electricity development projects. Analysis, design and project engineering of generation, transmission, distribution and industrial power systems. Experience included :
Responsible for the coordination of the preparation of environmental reports, design details, specification and bid documents for the 500 MW Gas Turbine Power Plant in open cycle mode. The design and specification included the necessary provisions to convert the power plant from open cycle to combined cycle in the future. It also included a 220 kV, outdoor SF6 type, double busbar substation as well as a small 220 kV/33 kV S/S for the local supply. Also included providing input to the local Civil Engineers and Architects designing the power plant as well as checking/reviewing their design approach. The work was carried out by a team from Electrowatt, Zurich and Lahmeyer International, Frankfurt. This also included participating in meetings with the World Bank, Inter-American Bank for Development as well as presentations to the Minister of Energy and other top level local civil servants. The duties also included setting up the office, hiring personnel ( administrative, technical and engineers ) as well as acting as EWI's representative.
Principal Engineer responsible for the design and specification of electrical equipment for Piper Field Redevelopment, Occidental Petroleum, including :
Project Engineer, responsible for project management and engineering of substations and power station projects. This involved interpreting clients requirements, undertaking engineering design and co-ordination, supervising in-house and outside engineering design, inspection, liaising/assisting/visiting site works which included : Site investigation of the modifications required for the relocation of the existing control and relay panels for the 220/33 kV Substation Extension Project at Al Ain for Water Electricity Department, Abu Dhabi. Also responsible for the contract administration of the low voltage DC system contract for E48 and Abu Mureikha substations in Abu Dhabi for Water Electricity Department, Abu Dhabi.
Principal Electrical Engineer, responsible for the design and specification of power supplies of Phase II of the Great Man-made River Project, Great Man-made River Authority, Libya, which included : - Economic and Technical analysis of the different alternatives of generation, transmission and distribution ( 220/66/33 kV). - Power systems studies (load flows, short circuit, transient stability). - Preparing specification for power generation, transmission and distribution. - Site co-ordination with the Secretariat of Electricity for provision of electricity supplies.
