On these projects acted as dam engineer to Parkman Consultants Ltd at two locations in Katsina State. These projects were World Bank financed.
Acted as dam design engineer to Parkman Consultants Ltd, on a World Bank financed schemes to bring potable water to three areas in Kaduna State.
Ikara Water Supply Dam. Inspection and investigation of an existing 10 m high zoned earthfill dam. The involvement included remedial work to the dam to overcome deficiencies in the drainage system. Assessment of performance of existing spillway for the design flood and preparation of a scheme for improvement of performance.
Kwoi Water Supply, Koryas Dam. Investigation of alternative sites for a proposed dam. Supervision of site investigations, preparation of report on the alternative schemes with recommendations for dam and spillway to be adopted. Preparation of detailed design for a 15 m high zoned earthfill embankment with a reservoir capacity of 7.8 Mm3· Design of spillway (capacity of 142 cumecs) and checking design with hydraulic model test.
Technical advice on the construction of a 28 metre high zoned earthfill embankment. Assessment of construction materials used in embankment. Review instrumentation results with particular reference to construction pore pressures and recommendations with regard to rate of progress. Drafting of operation and maintenance manual. Final safety inspection and commissioning of project.
Consultant to Design Engineer (Knight Piesold and Partners) on technical aspects of the project including:
Kuala Yong Dam. Review of seepage analyses and design of internal drainage system for a 70 m high dam.
Re-regulating Reservoir. Development of a design for pond to contain 1.5 million cubic metres of water. The foundation conditions under the site were particularly challenging.
Consultant to local Saudi company to advise on severe leakage of 38 m high concrete faced rockfill dam. Reservoir capacity 5.5 Mm3. Instigated investigation programme and prepared schemes for remedial works.
Dam design engineer for Managing Engineers (Brown and Root Ltd). Involvement included site investigations for Benghazi End Reservoir with 4.3 million cubic metres capacity and Sirt End Reservoir 6.8 million cubic metres capacity. Geotechnical aspects of Al Khadra NE Reservoir. Geotechnical design of zoned rockfill embankment with geomembrane lining.
Represented Managing Engineer at second safety inspection at Ajdabiya Holding Reservoir 4.0 million cubic metres capacity and attended lining trials on geomembrane.
Senior engineer for site investigation and feasibility designs including a gated barrage for 3000 ha of irrigated farms.
Project Engineer responsible for the engineering of two open pits in Northern Manitoba that included assessment of impact of dredging on underground workings, design of the containment of 48 Mm3 of spoil.
Senior engineer answering directly to Associate for the site investigations for a 112 m high dam, scheduling of testing and assessing design parameters. Review and detailed checking of geotechnical aspects on the main high dam containing 6 million cubic metres of fill. Particular attention was paid to the design of internal drainage and seismic design.
Senior resident engineer for the construction of Mnjoli dam, a 42 metres high zoned earth and rockfill embankment. Also the construction of 40 km of canal with a capacity of 6.3 cumecs and associated structures including balancing reservoir and inverted syphon under a river.
Project engineer for the geotechnical design of Mnjoli dam - reservoir capacity 152 Mm3. Also involved with the site investigation and construction of trial embankments on site.
Seconded to work with the mining company as a liaison engineer on a number of projects for the division:
1. Old Tailings Dam, Chambishi. Rehabilitation of existing tailings disposal dam to make safe prior to closure.
2. Service Reservoir, Chambishi. Supervision of construction of new 11 million litre reservoir for return water circulation.
3. Luano Dam, Chambishi. Site Investigations and supervision of construction of 2.5 km long 35 m high zoned earthfill embankment.
Investigations and report on failure of a 42,000 cubic metre lined reservoir

Inspection and report under section 10(2d) of the Act.

Accompanied Inspecting Engineer during the section 10(2a) inspection under the Act
Investigation of leakage of pond with a capacity of 45,000 m3. Field investigations including drilling and insitu testing. Spreadsheet program to assess water balance. Recommendations for remedial works and preparation of a scheme for pumping. Subsequently undertook a review of the original flood study.
Responsible for all aspects of investigation, design and monitoring of construction under the direction of the Panel Engineer. The project included two 70,000 m3 sand settling lagoons and a 50,000 m3 return water lagoon.
